Series of deep sinkholes appear in Thai Nguyen
In the Pai hamlet area (Phuong Tien commune, Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen), a series of unusually deep sinkholes appeared after the historic flood in September.
On December 8, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Hoang Van Anh - Chairman of Phuong Tien Commune People's Committee - said that some of the sinkholes had appeared many years ago. After inspection and assessment, they were not dangerous, so the locality mobilized people to fill them up for farming. Recently, when sinkholes continued to appear, the locality put up warning ropes to ensure safety.
