High tides in Can Tho may exceed historical peak tides in 2022
On October 16, the Can Tho City Hydrometeorological Station issued a flood warning bulletin in the area with a level 2 risk of natural disasters due to high tides.
In the past 2 days, the water level on the rivers and canals of Can Tho City has risen due to the influence of floods from upstream combined with the high tide of the 15th day of the 9th lunar month.
It is forecasted that the peak water level on rivers and canals in Can Tho City will continue to rise and exceed alert level III (2.00m) starting from October 16 and will continue to remain above alert level III until the end of October 22.
According to the Can Tho City Hydrometeorological Station, this is a high tide with a peak tide exceeding alarm level III by 0.18 - 0.28m.

Human body found in An Phu karaoke bar that was burned down
The body of a person who died of unknown cause was discovered on October 16 at An Phu karaoke bar (An Phu ward, Thuan An city, Binh Duong province). This is the karaoke bar that burned down more than 2 years ago, killing 32 people.
Locals said that part of the body's head and arm were found on the floor. Meanwhile, the body's torso fell into a hole inside the An Phu karaoke bar.
The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, suspected to have died about a month ago.

15 defendants prosecuted in case of establishing a finance company to appropriate money from credit card holders
On October 16, Ho Chi Minh City Police prosecuted 15 defendants in the case of "Using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to commit acts of property appropriation".
This move was made by the Economic Police Department (PC03) during the process of expanding the investigation into a criminal ring of more than 20 people led by Dao Thi Kieu Oanh and Le Thi Kim Hoa (31 years old). The investigation agency determined that from October to December 2022, this group had defrauded 614 credit card holders to withdraw more than 7.2 billion VND, appropriating more than 1.8 billion VND.
