These days, Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street (District 5), considered the largest decorative street in Ho Chi Minh City, is bustling with people coming here to shop and prepare for the upcoming Christmas.
According to Lao Dong, during the weekend of December 7-8, the shops on this street were always crowded with customers. Christmas decorations such as pine trees, snowmen, Christmas costumes, bells, balls, gift boxes of all sizes, etc. were on display with many designs, diverse in shape, size, and price.
Ms. Thu Nguyet - owner of a decoration store on Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street - said that the number of customers is increasing significantly, her store is having to recruit more staff to serve during this occasion and the upcoming Lunar New Year.
"It's the weekend so there are quite a lot of customers. Yesterday alone (December 7), the store welcomed about more than 100 customers, the income is relatively good," Ms. Thu Nguyet shared.
Ms. Nguyet added that items such as Christmas trees, balls, gift boxes... are often the most popular choices for people.
Of which, plastic pine trees are sold for about 50,000 VND to 5 million VND, depending on the type and height. For example, a pine tree named Cuoc Blooming, 1.5 m high, is sold for more than 800,000 VND; 2 m high is priced at 1.5 million VND; 2.4 m is priced at 2.1 million VND; 3 m is priced at 3.35 million VND; 3.6 m is priced at 4.7 million VND.
Besides, there are items such as reindeer, laurel wreaths, pine cones, decorative bows, stars... priced from 20,000 VND to 300,000 VND/product depending on design and size.
Ms. Tran Yen Nhi (Tan Binh District) said that she plans to spend about 5-7 million VND to buy decorations for Christmas 2024. "Before coming here, I made a list of items to buy and checked prices on e-commerce platforms. In general, the prices are not much different" - Ms. Nhi said.
Ms. Hoang Anh (District 6) said she plans to spend about 3-4 million VND to buy decorations. "Last year, many decorations were still usable, so this year I don't have to buy too many. I only bought a new Christmas tree because it was broken after 2 years of use, and bought some LED lights," Ms. Hoang Anh shared.
