On May 29, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, the 1st excellent grassroots security and order (ANTT) protection force contest in 2026 took place. The contest was attended by 6 linked teams from 51 neighborhoods in the special zone.
The contest is organized to widely disseminate the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State on forces participating in protecting social order and safety at the grassroots level; thereby raising awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities and people in building strong forces, meeting the requirements of ensuring social order and safety in the new situation. This is also an opportunity to inspect and evaluate the capacity, legal knowledge, professional skills and practical situation handling skills of forces participating in protecting social order and safety at the grassroots level - forces playing a core role in grasping the situation, mediating conflicts, and maintaining peace from residential areas.
Participating in the contest are members of the ANTT protection team in the neighborhood with good moral qualities, high sense of responsibility, meeting task requirements. Each team consists of 5 official members, including at least 1 team leader and 1 deputy team leader. ANTT teams are linked into 6 competition clusters to form teams to participate in the competition.
The contest took place sôi nổi with 3 staged parts including: talent, knowledge and situation handling. In the talent part, the teams introduced the locality and unit through many forms of art such as singing, dancing, Ho, verse, skits... imbued with cultural identity and grassroots life. The knowledge part focused on testing understanding of politics, law, and nghiệp vụ related to the Law on Forces participating in protecting ANTT at the grassroots level. The situation handling part required teams to apply skills and experience to resolve incidents arising in the area such as mediation of conflicts, handling of causing public disorder, traffic accidents, fire prevention and fighting... ensuring the correct functions and tasks assigned.
Through the contest, Phu Quoc special zone expects to continue to improve the quality of activities of forces participating in protecting social order and safety at the grassroots level; promote the role of "extended arm" of the Police force in the all-people movement to protect national security, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety right from the grassroots level.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize to team No. 3 (Duong To), the Second Prize to team No. 5 (Ham Ninh - Bai Thom) and the Third Prize to team No. 4 (Cua Can - Ganh Dau). In addition, 3 consolation prizes and 3 individuals with outstanding achievements in the talent, knowledge and situation handling competitions were also awarded.
