On April 28, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran The Phan - Commander of Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command chaired a conference to draw experience from the work of selecting and calling citizens to enlist in 2026 and the activities of local military organizations when implementing 2-level local government.
The conference was attended by Colonel Do Thanh Xuan - Deputy Director of the Political Department of Military Region 5.
2026 is the first year to implement the process of military recruitment steps without district level. With high determination, the Military Service Councils at 2 levels have successfully completed the military assignment task, achieving higher quantity and quality than the previous year. The whole province has assigned 3,935 citizens, reaching 100% of the assigned target. Among them, age from 18 - 21 years old reaches 73.8%; the rate of party members is 1.24%; 8.4% have university degrees.
Deploying the task of implementing the selection and conscription of citizens in 2027, the Provincial Military Service Council proposed that localities focus on improving the quality and effectiveness of propaganda and legal education on the responsibility of citizens to the task of building and protecting the Fatherland, throughout from the decisive step of strength to the end of military service.
On this occasion, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 5 individuals; The Provincial Military Command commended 10 collectives and 12 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the work of selecting and calling citizens to enlist in 2026.
At the conference, the Provincial Military Command deployed to draw experience on the operation of local military organizations when implementing 2-level local government. Over the past time, the Party Committee and Provincial Military Command have focused on comprehensively implementing resolutions, directives, and instructions from higher levels on implementing 2-level local government.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Do Thanh Xuan - Deputy Head of the Political Department of Military Region 5 acknowledged and highly appreciated the troop assignment work of Quang Ngai province. To improve the quality of recruitment and troop assignment in 2027, it is proposed that agencies, units, and localities strengthen the management of citizens of enlistment age; ensure the quality of citizen health check-ups.
