On July 27, information from the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05), Ministry of Public Security said that the "TinAI?" campaign will be officially launched on July 31 at Phenikaa University (Hanoi), to raise awareness, build information verification reflexes and spread a responsible information sharing culture in the context of fake news, fake content and deepfaked technology increasingly increasing.
The campaign was launched by the Digital Belief Alliance, under the patronage of the Ministry of Public Security, in coordination with the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention, the National Cyber Security Association, Mobile Online Services Joint Stock Company (MoMo) and Vietnam Television (VTV).
According to the Organizing Committee, the strong development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way humans create, access and spread information. Besides the benefits for digital economy innovation and development, AI also increases the risk of fake news, fake content, deepfake and increasingly sophisticated forms of fraud.
In that context, equipping people with skills to recognize, evaluate and verify information before receiving or sharing is considered an urgent requirement to contribute to building a safe, transparent and reliable digital environment.
Unlike many media activities that only focus on identifying fake news, the TinAI? Campaign aims to form a verification reflex for each Internet user.
With the message "Check before news", the campaign encourages people to proactively check, compare and consider before trusting or spreading any content in cyberspace.
Within the framework of the launching ceremony, a seminar with the theme "Building verification reflection in the AI era" will take place, gathering representatives of state management agencies, press agencies, technology businesses, digital platforms, experts, scientists and content creators.
The seminar will focus on exchanging information about the changes in the information environment in the AI era, the risks from fake content, deepfaked content and forms of information manipulation, and at the same time propose solutions to improve information verification capacity for the community.
Delegates will also discuss the role of technology, journalism, digital platforms and content creators in building a transparent, safe and reliable information ecosystem.
