On March 25, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee of Soc Trang province had a working session with the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to remove obstacles in relocating the 220kV power grid, ensuring the progress of Component Project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Project through the province.
Mr. Lam Van Man - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee - chaired the meeting.
According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province, the relocation of technical infrastructure works for the 220kV power grid is being delayed, affecting the overall progress of the entire project. Currently, there are still 9 220kV power lines affected on the entire route, including 2 piers in Tran De district, 5 piers in My Xuyen district and 2 piers in Soc Trang city.
The leader of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Soc Trang province also said that the progress of making compensation and support estimates for relocating the 220kV power line is slower than the plan. The relocation design documents and estimates have not yet been approved by competent authorities. The People's Committees of Tran De and My Xuyen districts have not yet issued a notice of land reclamation and specific land prices. There are 4 households (1 household in Tran De and 3 households in My Xuyen) that have requested to relocate the pillar location to facilitate rice cultivation.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Lam Van Man - Secretary of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee - emphasized that the province will send a document to the Ministry of Industry and Trade proposing to assign EVNNPT as the investor to relocate the 220kV line. If approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, EVNNPT will proactively implement design and construction solutions.
For Project Management Board 2 (investor of Component Project 4), the Secretary of Soc Trang Provincial Party Committee requested the unit to continue completing the dossier to determine the value of compensation and relocation support, coordinating with the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy to submit to competent authorities for approval. At the same time, it is necessary to carefully consider the options, minimizing the impact on the rights of people when building new pillars.
The Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Component 4 project passes through Soc Trang province for 57.9 km, affecting a land area of about 345 hectares with about 1,879 households. Up to now, the site clearance work has reached 99.5% (there are still 6 households that have not received compensation, support and resettlement; 9 220kV power lines). 4/4 resettlement areas have been built.
