On the afternoon of April 15, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 coordinated with the Command of Naval Region 5 to organize a conference to summarize the coordination work between the two units in 2025, and at the same time agree on directions and tasks for the coming time.
In 2025, the coordination between the two units will continue to be maintained closely and effectively, functional agencies regularly exchange information, proactively grasp the situation, and promptly advise on handling incidents at sea, not to be passive or surprised.
The coordination is comprehensively implemented in many aspects of work such as: Patrol, inspection, control to protect sovereignty and handle violations; logistics and technical assurance; propaganda, dissemination of legal education; advising on socio-economic development planning in coastal areas; disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, overcoming marine environmental incidents; organizing training and exercises; protecting internal political security; international cooperation and defense diplomacy... Thereby contributing to maintaining sovereignty, ensuring security and order in the Southwest sea and islands and stabilizing the situation of the stationed area.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff, Coast Guard Region 4 Command emphasized: The results of coordination in the past year have clearly shown the spirit of solidarity and high responsibility of the two units in performing the task of protecting sea and island sovereignty. In the coming time, it is necessary to continue to promote the achieved results, proactively grasp the situation, improve the quality of coordination, and effectively handle situations at sea, not to be passive or surprised in any situation.

In 2026, the two units need to continue to strengthen information exchange, promote patrols and inspections, firmly grasp the situation at sea, improve the effectiveness of training and combat readiness, and at the same time focus on mass mobilization work, supporting fishermen to develop a sustainable marine economy.
