Newborn baby's body found in ditch in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City - People have reported to functional agencies when they discovered the body of a newborn baby in a ditch while taking water to irrigate a field.

On March 31, Binh Gia Commune People's Committee (HCMC) said that functional agencies are conducting verification and clarification of the case of a newborn baby's body discovered by people in a ditch in the area.

Previously, at about 7 am on March 31, during the process of taking water to irrigate the fields, people discovered a newborn baby who had died, abandoned in a ditch in Loc Hoa hamlet, Binh Gia commune. People used a towel to wrap the newborn baby's body and then brought it ashore and reported it to functional agencies.

Upon receiving the report, Binh Gia Commune Police came to protect the scene, recorded initial information, and coordinated with professional units of Ho Chi Minh City Police to verify and clarify. Initial verification, this is the body of a newborn baby boy weighing about 3kg, with a umbilical cord on his body and some scratches, suspected of being newborn and abandoned.
