Da Nang - The City Journalists Association coordinates with units to open the Spring Press Festival and Reading Culture Day for the first time in Da Nang.

On the morning of February 28, the Da Nang City Journalists Association coordinated with units to open the Spring Press Festival and Reading Culture Day with the theme "Da Nang - City of Knowledge and Creativity". This is the first year the city has integrated the Binh Ngo Spring Press Festival with the Reading Culture Day to honor the value of books and revolutionary journalism.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Doan Xuan Hieu - Director of Da Nang Newspaper and Radio, Television, Chairman of the City Journalists Association emphasized the stature of the city's press in the new period. Mr. Hieu affirmed that after merging Quang Nam and Da Nang, the city's press is transforming more strongly than ever.

We are transforming more strongly in technology, more deeply in content, more professionally in production organization methods. But above all, what makes the sustainable value of city journalism in the flow of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism over the past 100 years is still professional ethics and the spirit of serving the people" - Mr. Hieu said.

The Chairman of the City Journalists Association also emphasized the concern of city leaders through Resolution 08 just issued in February 2026. Mr. Hieu said that this is a good sign, affirming that the merger helps the press become stronger, together filtering out the quintessence to shape its own identity for Da Nang.

On behalf of city leaders, Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Dung - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee highly appreciated the significance of the event taking place immediately after the success of the 14th Party Congress. According to Ms. Dung, this activity is not only an opportunity to promote publications but also a gathering place for knowledge.

Ms. Dung emphasized: "The Spring Press Festival and Reading Culture Day are opportunities for us to express gratitude and affection for journalists, press agencies, and publishers. These are people who have made worthy and important contributions to the overall development of the city. This is also an opportunity to honor reading culture and spread positive information in life.

The Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department also hopes that through the rich program script in 9 days, reading culture will be strongly spread among all classes of people, especially the generation of students. This contributes to building Da Nang into a city of knowledge, creativity, humanity and sustainable development.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented symbols to representatives of 12 press and photography units participating in the booth. Typical units include Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Military Region 5 Newspaper, Da Nang City Police Special Edition, and representative offices of Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre, Tien Phong and Saigon Giai Phong newspapers.

After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, delegates visited the display space of more than 1,000 books and unique Spring newspaper publications at the Da Nang Library campus. The event will last until March 7 with many talk shows and author and work exchanges.
