Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just sent a document to relevant units regarding the maintenance of temporary parks in the city.
Previously, the city had renovated 11 vacant land areas into temporary parks, contributing to supplementing green space, creating community activity points and urban landscape during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.
The locations include: No. 8 Vo Van Tan street; 135 Nguyen Hue - 39 Le Loi; Le Thanh Ton - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia - Le Loi - Nguyen Trung Truc quadrilateral; 152 Tran Phu; 33 Nguyen Du and 34-36, 42 Chu Manh Trinh; 2-4-6 Nguyen Hue; 2-4-6 Hai Ba Trung; 8-12 Le Duan; 87 Cong Quynh; 74 Ho Hao Hon - 289 Tran Hung Dao; 7 Le Thi Hong Gam.
According to new directions, Ho Chi Minh City agreed on the policy of continuing to maintain temporary parks in land areas where projects have not been implemented.
This maintenance does not change the land use purpose, does not affect the progress of the approved project and does not incur additional legal procedures regarding land. At the same time, temporary parks must ensure requirements for landscape, environmental sanitation and urban security and order.
For land plots No. 33 Nguyen Du and 34-36, 42 Chu Manh Trinh, the maintenance of the temporary park is only carried out in the period when the site has not been handed over to the land lease unit and will be terminated when handing over according to the plan.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also allows land management units to continue to maintain temporary parks using socialized funds, legal sources of the unit or through mobilizing sponsorship from businesses and organizations. If necessary, units can report to competent authorities for consideration and decision on support.
Regarding the temporary park at land plot No. 8 Vo Van Tan, Xuan Hoa Ward People's Committee is assigned to continue mobilizing socialized resources for maintenance and operation. In case funding cannot be mobilized, the locality shall prepare a cost estimate and send it to the Department of Finance to advise the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to consider financial support.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigns land management units to be responsible for organizing the maintenance of landscape and environment in locations where the project has not been implemented; and at the same time coordinate with local authorities to ensure urban order, environmental sanitation and security. Units must report implementation plans to the Department of Construction.
The Department of Construction is assigned to monitor and inspect the maintenance of temporary parks and summarize the situation, and promptly report to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. The Department of Agriculture and Environment guides units and localities to handle legal land issues arising during the implementation process.
The Department of Finance shall preside over and coordinate with relevant units to advise on allocating appropriate funding for the case where Xuan Hoa Ward People's Committee proposes to support the maintenance and operation of the temporary park at land plot No. 8 Vo Van Tan.
