On April 21, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction sent a document to the Cat Lai Ward Construction Investment Project Management Board and the Traffic and Technical Infrastructure Management Center, requesting urgently to overcome the damage to the road surface of Hoang Huu Nam street (Long Binh ward).
According to the Department of Construction, through inspection of the current status of traffic infrastructure, the Hoang Huu Nam road section within the project scope invested by the Cat Lai Ward Construction Investment Project Management Board is under construction but many seriously degraded locations have appeared.
Damaged road surface, a lot of dust and dirt spreading, causing difficulties for traffic participants and potential safety risks.

Faced with this situation, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction requested the investor to direct the construction contractor to urgently repair damaged points, ensure smooth road surface, no water stagnation; and at the same time regularly clean and collect soil and sand, minimizing the spread of dust affecting people. The deadline for completing the above works is set before April 25, 2026.
At the same time, the Traffic Management and Technical Infrastructure Center is assigned the task of strengthening inspection, supervision and reminding construction units and investors during the implementation process.
In case of failure to remedy within the time limit, relevant units will coordinate with the Traffic Police force and the Specialized Inspection Department of the Department of Construction to handle it strictly according to regulations.
The project to expand Hoang Huu Nam road from 7m to 30m, about 1.7 km long, the section from the new Mien Dong Bus Station to the Hanoi Highway intersection, started in June 2015 with a total investment of more than 402 billion VND.
After more than 10 years of implementation, the project has only reached about 85% of the volume, delayed due to problems in compensation and site clearance. To date, the investor has received land from 140/145 affected cases. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.
