Ho Chi Minh City requests localities to urgently review and make a list of residential areas and houses that do not ensure traffic infrastructure and fire hydrants.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just issued a document requesting the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to urgently review and make a list of areas and houses that do not ensure traffic infrastructure or lack water sources to serve firefighting in the area.

This move is to implement Directive No. 05/CT-UBND dated November 26, 2025 of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee on strengthening fire prevention and fighting (PCCC) and rescue; and at the same time implement Plan No. 203/KH-UBND dated December 12, 2025 related to the implementation of the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting (PCCC) and guiding documents for implementation.

The Department of Construction requests the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to urgently deploy actual review, assess traffic infrastructure and fire hydrant systems in the locality; and at the same time compile a list of areas and houses that do not meet the conditions according to regulations, and send it to the Department before April 22, 2026 for synthesis and reporting to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Cases that need to be statistically analyzed include areas and houses with one of the following signs: no traffic roads or no water sources for firefighting; traffic roads that do not meet the conditions for fire trucks to access (traffic surface narrow below 3.5 m, clearance height below 4.5 m or cannot withstand the load of fire trucks); water sources that do not meet the standards according to QCVN 06:2022/BXD; or dead ends over 46 m long but no turning point for fire trucks.

The Department of Construction requests localities to seriously implement and ensure the progress of reports to promptly advise the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to classify and announce areas and houses that do not meet fire prevention and fighting requirements according to regulations.
