The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction has just issued a document directing the implementation of solutions to serve artistic lighting activities in the city center area.
Previously, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports to research and implement solutions to create conditions for the development of artistic lighting activities in the central area.
In the immediate future, focus on some symbolic works such as the City Post Office, City Theater; thereby, forming nighttime landscape highlights, contributing to building a modern and vibrant image of Ho Chi Minh City, meeting the cultural enjoyment needs of people and tourists.
Implementing the above direction, the Department of Construction assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Management and Technical Infrastructure Center to coordinate with relevant units and businesses operating in the cultural field (through the Department of Culture and Sports) to research and propose artistic lighting solutions in the central area.
Currently, many symbolic works in the center of Ho Chi Minh City have been installed with art lighting systems such as the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the City Post Office, the City Opera House, the City State Treasury, the Ho Chi Minh City Art Museum, the Ton Duc Thang Museum, the Thu Ngu Flagpole, Ba Son Bridge, Mong Bridge, the City Children's House, and the Ho Chi Minh City Museum.
The Department of Construction requests units to organize current status inspections; if necessary, propose repairs, replacements or additions to the art lighting system to increase the efficiency of creating nighttime landscape highlights. At the same time, study applying 3D mapping lighting technology to the exterior of the building, associated with historical events of each location.
For public spaces and other works, the Department of Construction requests to review and propose the implementation of forms of artistic lighting, decorative lighting, dynamic interactive lighting... in urban public spaces such as April 30th Park, Tao Dan Park; canal banks and riverbanks that have completed embankments.
In addition, study lighting the exterior of conservation works, historical and cultural relics such as Notre Dame Cathedral, Reunification Hall, Giac Lam Pagoda, Ben Thanh Market, Binh Tay Market, Ong Ba Chieu Mausoleum; as well as some main roads, gateways and large bridges to create landscape highlights for Ho Chi Minh City.
