On September 26, information from Dong Thap Electronic Information Portal said that the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Thap province has just organized a meeting with 115 parents whose children and grandchildren will work abroad under contracts in 2025.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Hieu - Director of the Dong Thap Provincial Employment Service Center shared that from January 1, 2021 to now, the whole province has had over 10,900 workers who have gone abroad to work under contracts. Mainly concentrated in labor markets: Japan, Korea... The estimated average income of workers working abroad is about 1,500 billion VND per year. Workers returning home after 3 years of contract expiration can accumulate capital of VND600 million or more, helping their families become quite rich and confident in creating jobs for themselves.
At the meeting, representatives of the Labor Export Company shared the results of coordination with the Dong Thap Provincial Employment Service Center on sending workers to work in Japan in the past time. Representatives of parents with children and grandchildren working abroad under contracts shared their experiences in encouraging and supporting their children to work with peace of mind. In addition, parents also raised many questions related to loan support policies, skills training, career orientation after workers have completed their contracts and reliable addresses for recruiting workers to go abroad.

To promote the effectiveness of the policy of supporting workers to work abroad under contracts in the province, Director of the Department of Home Affairs Nguyen Van Vu Minh proposed that the Provincial Employment Service Center promote its role as a focal point for information, propagate support policies, foreign labor markets and provide labor to work abroad according to the provisions of law; at the same time, select and filter reputable enterprises when providing labor.
In the coming time, it is necessary to issue coordination regulations between the Department of Home Affairs and relevant organizations on labor supply; communes and wards to monitor and grasp the working and living conditions of workers working abroad after the merger of provinces and periodically evaluate support policies to bring the best quality to workers working abroad.
