On January 7, Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police, Dak Lak province informed that the unit had urgently launched an investigation to clarify the property theft case that occurred at Buon Ma Thuot cemetery.
According to initial information, on the evening of November 4, 2025, at Buon Ma Thuot cemetery (Buon Ma Thuot ward), subjects Y.T.M and P.P.M.M, both residing in Tan Lap ward, broke into the cemetery grounds and stole batteries attached to graves.
Immediately after receiving the report from the people, Buon Ma Thuot Ward Police proceeded to verify, review the subjects and track down the traces left by the subjects at the scene. The Ward Police clearly identified the identities of the related subjects, seized exhibits and clarified the entire dien bien of the incident.
The investigation process determined that the subjects had stolen 3 batteries at graves in Buon Ma Thuot Cemetery. At the police station, Y.T.M and P.P.M.M admitted to committing crimes.
Due to not having a stable job and needing money to spend, subject Y.T.M had the intention to steal property. The subject invited P.P.M.M to participate in stealing batteries at Buon Ma Thuot Cemetery to sell for money.
When they arrived, the subjects parked their cars far from the cemetery and walked inside. Y.T.M directly brought knives and scissors to cut the cords of the batteries at the graves. P.P.M.M went behind to collect the stolen property.
When discovered by people and shouted for help, the subjects quickly fled. The stolen property was taken away and hidden in the roadside bushes. Notably, subject Y.T.M has 2 previous convictions for robbery and theft of property, has just served his prison sentence but still continues to re-offend.
