The People's Procuracy of Cam Giang district coordinated with the People's Court at the same level to organize a first-instance trial of the case of Mai Dai Vuong (born in 2007, Luong Thinh village, Tan Thinh commune, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province), for the crime of Violating regulations on road traffic participation, stipulated in Point a, Clause 2, Article 260 of the Penal Code.
According to the indictment, at about 2:30 a.m. on May 2, 2024, at km 45+570, National Highway 5, in the direction of Hai Phong - Hanoi road, in Lai Cach town (Cam Giang district, Hai Duong province), Mai Dai Vuong did not have a driver's license and drove a motorbike in the wrong direction in the direction of Hanoi - Hai Phong. Due to not paying attention, the front of Vuong's motorbike collided with the right front of a motorbike driven by Mr. Doan Van Thanh (born in 1969, in Ha area, Ke Sat town, Binh Giang district, Hai Duong province) traveling in the direction of Hai Phong - Hanoi.
As a result, Mr. Thanh fell onto the road and was taken to Hai Duong General Hospital for emergency treatment, then treated at Viet Duc Hospital - Hanoi, Central Tropical Hospital and National Burn Hospital. On July 13, 2024, Mr. Thanh passed away.
Based on the proposal of the representative of the People's Procuracy of Cam Giang district, the Trial Council sentenced defendant Mai Dai Vuong to 21 months in prison with a suspended sentence, the probation period is 36 months for the crime of violating regulations on road traffic participation under Point a, Clause 2, Article 260 of the Penal Code.
