On May 14, Quang Ngai Provincial Police informed that the People's Court of Region 11, Quang Ngai province, had just held a first-instance trial for defendant Pham Ngoc Khang (born 2002, residing in hamlet 4, Bo Y commune, Quang Ngai province) for the crime of "Illegally transporting narcotics".
According to the indictment, at about 9:30 PM on December 27, 2025, at Bo Y Commune Park, Quang Ngai province, Pham Ngoc Khang, wanting to have money to buy a bus ticket to find a job, agreed to transport drugs for a man (identity and background unknown) with an agreed wage of 500,000 VND.
After that, Khang transported drugs from Dak To commune, Quang Ngai province to Bo Y commune, Quang Ngai province. When Khang went to an empty lot in front of Phuc Huong hotel in residential group 2, Bo Y commune, Quang Ngai province to deliver drugs, he was discovered and arrested by functional forces. The drugs that Khang transported for hire were Methamphetamine, with a total weight of 0.73 grams.
The actions of defendant Pham Ngoc Khang constituted the crime of "Illegally transporting narcotics".
At the trial, defendant Pham Ngoc Khang realized his wrongdoing, honestly confessed, repented and asked the court to reduce the sentence.
The Trial Panel sentenced defendant Pham Ngoc Khang to 3 years in prison for the crime of "Illegally transporting narcotics".
