On October 1, an electrical short circuit occurred at a school in Vung Tau ward (HCMC). To ensure safety, the school has evacuated the students and notified parents to pick them up early.
According to initial information, at around 10:00 a.m. on October 1, when the entire Vung Tau Secondary School was in class, suddenly a loud explosion occurred at the power source, accompanied by electricity generation. At this time, there are about 1,400 students from 30 classes studying in the facility.
As soon as the incident occurred, the security forces were present nearby and quickly used fire extinguishers to handle the situation, preventing it from affecting the surrounding area. At the same time, teachers of each class also quickly evacuated students to safe areas; notified the class groups for parents to pick up the children.
The authorities quickly arrived to coordinate to handle and control the incident. The initial cause was determined to be overloaded electricity.
The Board of Directors of Vung Tau Secondary School said that the incident was handled promptly, so there were no human casualties. The school also gives classes a day off in the afternoon to re-check all facilities and power systems; have solutions to ensure safety before letting students return to school.
