The lessons of general teachers from April 2025

According to Article 7, Circular No. 05/2025/TT-BGDDT (effective from 22.4.2025) stipulates the level of lessons for general teachers and university preparatory teachers as follows:

1. The lesson norm is the total number of theoretical lessons (or practice) of direct teaching (or online teaching) of each teacher must be done in 01 school year.

2. The level of lessons in 01 school year is determined as follows:

LETTER LESSONS IN 01 School year = average lessons in 01 week x number of teaching weeks

In particular, the number of weeks is the number of weeks of teaching educational content in the educational program (excluding the number of spare weeks).

3. The average teaching norm for 01 week

a) The teacher of the Primary School is 23 periods, the teacher of the junior high school is 19 periods, the teacher of the high school is 17 periods;

b) Teachers of elementary ethnic boarding schools are 21 periods, teachers of junior high school ethnic minority schools are 17 periods, teachers of junior high school ethnic minority schools are 17 periods, teachers of high school boarding schools are 15 periods;

In addition to teaching according to the above -mentioned lesson norms, teachers of semi -boarding ethnic minority schools, boarding schools also participate in other tasks of semi -boarding ethnic minority high schools, boarding ethnic minority schools including student management, tutoring, fostering students and organizing specific educational activities of the semi -boarding ethnic minority schools, boarding schools in accordance with the principal of the principal;

c) Teachers and classes for people with disabilities are 21 periods for elementary school levels, 17 periods for junior high school level, 15 periods for high school level;

d) The school teacher is 12 periods;

d) Teachers who are in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Team are 02 periods for primary schools with 28 or more classes in regions 2 and 3 or 19 classes in zone 1; 08 periods for the remaining elementary schools.

Based on the division of the region in accordance with the Circular No. 20/2023/TT-BGDDT of October 30, 2023 of the Minister of Education and Training guiding the job position and the number of people working in general educational institutions and specialized schools;

e) The teacher in charge of the Ho Chi Minh Pioneering Youth Team is 02 periods for junior high schools with 28 or more classes in regions 2 and 3 and 19 classes in zone 1; 06 periods for the remaining junior high schools;

g) Teachers who are in charge of the Ho Chi Minh Pioneering Youth Team are 02 periods for high schools with many high school levels with the total number of elementary and junior high school classes of 28 or more classes in regions 2 and 19 classes in zone 1; 06 periods for high schools with many remaining levels.

Thus, from April 22, 2025, the level of lessons for general teachers is prescribed above.
