From the preliminary round to the final round of "National Children's Singer 2025", Vi An was the name that surprised the judges with her maturity in emotions, artistic aesthetics and deep love for folk music.
Xam singing from the heart of a young person
In July 2025, amidst the bustling atmosphere of the "National Children's Singer - Vietnam Kid Singer" contest, among hundreds of contestants performing trending songs, children's ballads or vibrant foreign music, Vi An chose to perform the Xam Co dance, surprising and paying tribute to many audiences with her voice.
Vi An, 12 years old, is currently a student at Chu Van An Secondary School (Hanoi). In the preliminary round, Vi An initially intended to perform familiar songs associated with her childhood, but in a minute of looking back at her outfit, she realized that the outfit she wore was more suitable for Xam.

It was that moment of genuine emotions that brought Vi An into the semi-finals with a yellow ticket. From the first performances, Vi An showed that her artistic choice was not random. Having loved Xam since childhood, Vi An has felt each phase, each difficult way.
In the final night, Vi An chose a new challenge - the song "Xam Thap An - Cong cha me sinh thanh". Not an easy "etect" song, this is an ancient work praising gratitude for being a source of income, with a complex structure, slow rhythm and requiring sophistication in each breath.
Start a long dream
After being announced to be in the final, Vi An only had more than 1 week to prepare. The closed practice schedule, long lyrics, uncoordinated beats... made the practice stressful.
On stage, Vi An also had the opportunity to stand with People's Artist Thanh Ngoan - one of the big names in traditional Vietnamese art. Recalling this moment, Vi An was very touched: "NSND Thanh Ngoan is an idol and I am very happy and honored to perform with my idol".

Vi An's voice not only touched the audience's emotions and was awarded the title of "Young idol singer".
After the competition, Vi An did not rest. She continued to learn culture, learn musical instruments, practice vocals and explore new music genres. Although she loves Xam very much, she does not limit herself to one genre: "I am learning both chamber music and folk music, including... Rap. I think if I study all the music genres, I will be able to bring Xam closer to younger people in the future".

In addition to school hours, Vi An actively participates in regular performances at programs of VTV, Hanoi Radio and many major stages.
Vi An is not the only person singing Xam - but the way she chose Xam, lived with Xam and spread Xam to audiences of the same age makes the journey of the young female singer special.
