On November 3, the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee issued a notice requesting departments, branches and localities to proactively deploy response plans to storms near the East Sea and floods that may affect the area.

According to the forecast, on November 5, storm Kalmaegi will enter the East Sea and become the 13th storm of 2025. The storm is forecast to reach an intensity of over level 12 when active in the Truong Sa archipelago.

It is expected that by November 7, the storm will likely directly affect the area from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa, causing strong winds and widespread heavy rain.

Mr. Nguyen An Phu - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province - said that in order to proactively respond, the province has directed coastal localities to guide the anchoring of boats, reinforcement, and protection of cages to avoid storms to ensure safety.

According to Mr. Phu, the unit has requested hydropower plants in the Ba River basin (Ba Ha River, Hinh River, Krong H'nam River) to regulate water appropriately.

At the same time, it is recommended that localities notify people, organizations, and units operating in the downstream area for prevention to ensure the safety of people and property.

Mr. Nguyen Thien Van - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - has directed relevant units to prepare forces, vehicles, and materials to respond to storms and floods.

Localities must organize forces to guard, control, support and guide people to ensure traffic safety, especially in underground, overflow areas, deep flooded areas, fast-flowing water areas, and areas at risk of landslides.

"Determined not to allow people and vehicles to pass through when safety is not guaranteed. At the same time, arrange forces to promptly fix the problem, ensuring smooth traffic on main routes, Mr. Van emphasized.

The leaders of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee also requested grassroots forces to proactively protect production, inspect and review safety plans for the dyke system, dams, and downstream areas.

Especially vulnerable lakes, unfinished works in river mouths, riverbanks, streams... to ensure the safety of people's lives and property when floods occur.
