serious accident of 5 children riding an electric bicycle
Currently, parents buying electric bicycles and electric motorbikes for their children to travel has become popular, helping children be more proactive and reduce pick-up and drop-off time.
However, this action poses a high risk of traffic accidents if children are not fully equipped with knowledge, skills and awareness of obeying traffic laws.
In fact, there have been many tragic accidents involving children driving vehicles in Dak Lak province.
Typically, at the end of June 2025, on Dong Truong Son Street (M'Drak Commune), 5 children were riding an electric bicycle from the village road to the main road when they collided with a tractor-trailer.
As a result, 2 students (5 years old and 15 years old) died on the spot, and the other two (2 years old and 4 years old) were injured. The cause was determined to be that the electric bicycle driver did not give way to the vehicle on the priority road, in addition, the vehicle was carrying more people than the prescribed number.

1,200 cases of student traffic violations
Accidents are a great pain for parents who lose their children. This is also a warning bell about the responsibility of families in managing and educating children when participating in traffic.
According to the Traffic Safety Committee of Dak Lak province, in the first 6 months of 2025, the authorities have detected and handled more than 1,200 cases of students violating traffic laws.
Common violations include: not wearing a helmet, carrying more people, weaving, swerving, running red lights, driving in the wrong direction, not obeying traffic police signals, using phones while driving...
These acts not only threaten the lives of students but also endanger other road users.
Recently, functional forces and local authorities have implemented many solutions to limit traffic accidents involving children.
Ensuring the safety of children when participating in traffic should be given top priority by parents, in order to protect children's lives and build a safer society.
In this context, the leaders of the Provincial Police requested that press agencies increase propaganda about this content. Thereby, contributing to raising public awareness in management, ensuring safety for children, especially when giving children vehicles to use.
