Vinh Long - Tra Vinh University Hospital coordinates with local authorities to organize health check-ups and give gifts to 200 near-poor households and policy families in Truong Long Hoa ward.

On May 16, in Truong Long Hoa ward, Tra Vinh University Hospital coordinated with local authorities to organize a health check-up program, dispense medicine, guide people to install and use electronic health records, and give gifts to 200 near-poor households and policy families in the area.

According to the organizers, each gift includes 10kg of rice and 200,000 VND in cash to support people in difficult circumstances. In addition to a general examination, people are also consulted on health care and guided on preventing some common diseases in the elderly.

Ms. Le Cam Tu, residing in Truong Long Hoa ward, said that her family is in difficult circumstances, so they have little opportunity to go for regular medical examinations. Being able to have doctors and nurses come to the locality for health check-ups and gifts helps her and many people reduce living expenses.

Ms. Huynh Thi Hong Nhung - Specialist Doctor II, Director of Tra Vinh University Hospital - said that the activity aims to share difficulties with people in difficult circumstances, and at the same time raise awareness of community health care in the locality.

In the coming time, the unit will continue to coordinate with localities to organize more social security activities and community medical examinations to raise awareness of health care for people in difficult areas," Ms. Ngung added.

Mr. Pham Hai Au - Vice Chairman of Truong Long Hoa Ward People's Committee - said that the program is practical and contributes to caring for the material and spiritual life of near-poor households, policy families and people in difficult circumstances in the ward.
