Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a plan to inspect the compliance with the law in the field of food safety for establishments providing meals and food for schools.
According to the Plan, the inspection aims to assess the level of compliance with food safety regulations of units providing meals for students. Through this, functional agencies promptly detect, prevent and handle violations, limit the risk of food safety incidents, contributing to protecting students' health.
At the same time, this activity also aims to strengthen state management responsibility and rectify inadequacies in food safety management.
The subjects of inspection include establishments providing meals for schools and units providing raw materials and food to serve school kitchens.
The inspection content focuses on the compliance with legal regulations, in which attention is paid to issues such as legal documents (business registration, certificate of eligibility for food safety), facility hygiene conditions, equipment, tools and personnel.
In addition, the inspection team will review the origin, source and quality of food ingredients; product declaration documents, labeling; implementation of 3-step inspection and sampling according to regulations, and other related contents as required.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety will establish inspection teams, coordinate with local authorities to implement. In necessary cases, relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals will be invited to participate in coordination.
The inspection time takes place in April 2026. After completing the inspection, the Department of Food Safety will summarize and report the results to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and at the same time make quick reports when requested.
