Shared pieces from Hope is a journey connecting art and sharing, compassion and hope, honoring the values of strength, flexibility, and the spirit of regeneration through silk art through inspiring works by disabled craftsmen.
The exhibition will introduce to the public unique silk painting works created by disabled craftsmen of Van Art from Van Phuc scraps of silk.
The works are adapted from a painting series recreating the mascot image of the snake of the Year of the Snake - a symbol of flexibility, transformation and inner strength of famous artists such as: Le Huy Van, Le Thiet Cuong and Nguyen Van Truong, reflecting the delicate combination of traditional art and contemporary creativity.
Not only stopping at silk paintings, the event also introduced products applied to these works of art such as ao dai, T-shirt, tote bags, pillowcases. The products not only contain artistic values but are also close to life, bringing a creative and practical approach to bringing art into everyday life.
Within the framework of the program, Vuon Art organized special activities including: Ao Dai performance with scrap silk motifs inspired by the snake mascot painting; exchanges between artists and disabled craftsmen...
The exhibition event "Shared pieces from Hope" is not only an art space where visitors have the opportunity to admire unique works and applied art products from scrap metal, but also shows hope and confidence in a bright future for disabled workers.
Mr. Le Viet Cuong - Director of Vun Art - shared: "This exhibition event is an important step in the journey of Vun Art, where we not only convey artistic values but also share hope and love to the community and the disadvantaged".
Established and put into operation since 2018 in Van Phuc silk village, Van Art is a social enterprise model with the aspiration to build an artistic working environment for people with disabilities, preserve traditional culture and protect the environment through taking advantage of leftover materials in production.
Since then, Vun Art has not only been a workplace but has also become a "common home" for more than 30 disabled craftsmen in many different forms.
In 2019, Vuon Art was assessed by the United Nations Organization for Science, Education and Culture (UN UNESCO) as a sustainable and creative model, both creativity in culture and product development of Van Phuc craft village.
