On April 2, the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Disease Control said that the measles vaccination campaign in Gia Lai province in 2025 will start from March 26.
Statistics show that as of the morning of April 1, 94% of children aged 6 to 10 and 80% of children aged 6 to 9 months have been vaccinated against measles.
In particular, medical facilities have not recorded any cases of reactions or adverse incidents after vaccination, ensuring compliance with regulations on vaccination safety.
Currently, the campaign continues to be implemented to achieve the goal of vaccinating 95% of children who are vaccinated, including children who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses of measles vaccine as prescribed.
To monitor and ensure the progress of the campaign, the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Disease Control has established 2 working groups. These teams will inspect and supervise vaccination work in 17 districts, towns and cities in the province.
Since the beginning of the year, Gia Lai has recorded more than 1,900 cases of suspected measles rash fever, of which 173 cases tested positive. The epidemic has spread to 17 districts, towns and cities, concentrated in Chu Se, Krong Pa and Dak Doa.
The Gia Lai Center for Disease Control warns that children under 5 years old are at high risk of disease, especially those who have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses.
