On August 17 and 18, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (GHPG) of Quang Ninh province organized the 6th Provincial Buddhist Congress, term 2026-2031, with more than 500 official delegates who are monks, nuns, and Buddhists in the province.
Attending the congress were representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, central agencies and leaders of Quang Ninh province.
According to the report at the congress, the past term ended one year early according to the general policy of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. The Church organization in Quang Ninh continues to be consolidated; the monastic and nun solidarity bloc is maintained; the fields of monastic affairs, education, propagation of the Dharma, guidance of Buddhists, culture, rituals, social charity, information and communication and international Buddhist relations all achieved many positive results.
Currently, Quang Ninh has 625 monks and nuns practicing and practicing religion; more than 150 Buddhist monasteries have monks and nuns as abbots. The whole province maintains 3 lower schools, with an average of 300-400 monks and nuns living in prohibited accommodation each year.
During his term, the Church organized 3 Dai Gioi Dan with the title Truc Lam Tam To, passing on the Dharma to 495 disciples.

The work of propagating the Dharma and guiding Buddhists is maintained with about 200,000 Buddhists participating in activities at 260 Dharma halls, groups, and Buddhist associations in the province.
In the field of Buddhist cultural preservation, more than 50 Buddhist relics in Quang Ninh province were restored and built during the term with a total budget of more than 500 billion VND.
In 2025, the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son, Kiep Bac historical and scenic complex was recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Charity and social activities in the 4 years of the term reached a total budget of nearly 82 billion VND.
The Congress elected the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province for the term 2026-2031, consisting of 65 members.
Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet continues to be appointed Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Quang Ninh province.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with achievements in Buddhist affairs. Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in Buddhist affairs.
The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Quang Ninh province also donated 500 million VND to support the province's charity and humanitarian work.
