According to the plan, Quang Ninh students will return to school earliest from August 29, 2026. Students of grades 1, 9 and 12 will return to school earliest from August 22, 2026.
The opening ceremony of the 2026-2027 school year will be held on September 5, 2026.
Regarding the semester schedule and end of the school year, for preschool and primary education, semester I starts from September 7, 2026 and ends on January 8, 2027. Semester II starts from January 11, 2027 and ends on May 21, 2027. The school year ends on May 28, 2027.
For secondary and continuing education levels, except for grades 9 and 12, the first semester takes place from September 7, 2026 to January 9, 2027; the second semester from January 11, 2027 to May 22, 2027. The school year ends on May 29, 2027.
For 9th and 12th grade students, the first semester starts from August 24, 2026, ends on January 2, 2027; the second semester starts on January 4, 2027 and ends on May 15, 2027. The school year for these classes ends on May 29, 2027.
The 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2027-2028 school year in Quang Ninh is expected to be held on May 20, 21, and 22, 2027.
Other exams will be organized according to regulations and guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training and competent authorities.
Quang Ninh province also requests to complete the consideration of recognizing the completion of the primary school program and the consideration of recognizing the completion of the secondary school program before May 31, 2027. The consideration of recognizing high school graduation is carried out according to the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Regarding enrollment work, enrollment into the first grades of the 2027-2028 school year must be completed before July 31, 2027.
