From around the evening and night of June 14 to the night of June 16, the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. Especially in the mountainous and midland areas of the North, there is a possibility of a period of moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, with locally very heavy rain with common rainfall of 70 - 150mm, locally over 250mm.
The meteorological agency warns of the risk of heavy rain with rainfall greater than 100mm within 3 hours.
Warning level of natural disaster risk due to heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, and hail is level 1. Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial areas; flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes.
Regarding the rain trend, the total rainfall in the coming month in the Northern region and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Nghe An is generally higher than the multi-year average by 10 - 25%; other places are generally lower than the multi-year average of the same period by 5 - 20%.
