Recorded on the morning of June 14, on many central roads, garbage collection points have been overloaded for many days.

Domestic waste from households, markets, restaurants, and hotels is continuously brought out but is not transported and treated, causing the volume to pile up more and more.
At some points, garbage is piled high on the sidewalk, spreading down to the road. Many bags of organic waste begin to decompose and leak black water.
Hot weather interspersed with early-season rain causes a strong stench to rise, greatly affecting the lives of people and tourists.

Mr. Nguyen Van Sang (Lam Vien ward - Da Lat) said that his family had to close the doors for the past 3 days to avoid odors and flies.
At noon and in the evening, the smell is very strong, seriously affecting daily life. Currently, it is the summer tourist season, garbage accumulation not only causes environmental pollution, but also spoils the aesthetics and affects tourism," he said.
Not only residential areas, but also many service and accommodation businesses are affected.

Ms. Tran Thi Bich, owner of a accommodation establishment on Bui Thi Xuan street (Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat), said that tourists continuously complain about the situation of accumulated waste, affecting the image of tourist destinations.
According to research, the cause stemmed from the Da Lat Solid Waste Treatment Plant (Green Energy Environment Co., Ltd.) temporarily suspending the receipt and treatment of waste from 6 pm on June 12.

The business said that the suspension is due to the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department of Area 1 having a document requesting to restrict account transactions, causing the company to be unable to pay operating costs, fuel and maintain factory operations.
Local authorities said they have worked with businesses to find a solution, but so far the collection and treatment of waste has not been restored.

It is estimated that Da Lat generates hundreds of tons of domestic waste every day. If the situation lasts, the collection points will quickly become overloaded, posing a risk of environmental pollution, epidemics and affecting water sources.
In the context of Da Lat entering the peak tourist season, the situation of garbage congestion not only causes public outrage but also seriously affects the image of the "city of thousands of flowers".
People and local authorities are petitioning Lam Dong province to soon have temporary solutions, restore treatment operations or arrange alternative plans to avoid widespread environmental crisis.
