In the context of climate change being a global challenge, Vietnam has set a goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. To connect information and spread the spirit of climate action, the website "Net Zero Vietnam" was born as a modern, accessible and highly interactive online data journalism platform.
Speaking at the ceremony, Journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said that the "Net Zero Vietnam" website had been conceived for a long time and the groundbreaking work had been implemented nearly 2 years ago with the close coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.


The page "Net Zero Vietnam" is oriented as an accurate, scientific and vivid information channel, helping to raise public awareness of climate change and emission reduction responsibility.
The page includes 8 comprehensively designed and in-depth sections and one of the most outstanding points of the page is the interactive game "Your Carbonish footprints". This tool allows users to estimate their monthly greenhouse gas emissions based on living habits, means of transportation, electricity consumption and food.
Sharing at the ceremony, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang highly appreciated the significance of the "Net Zero Vietnam" website: "The birth of the "Net Zero Vietnam" website marks an important step forward in knowledge governance and coordinating national action on green transformation. This will be a knowledge and connection platform to disseminate policies, updates implementation procedures and share typical models and initiatives; a forum for scientists, managers, businesses and people to contribute to the initiative "Economic development - Environmental protection - Social prosperity", propose solutions and act together for the common goal of sustainable national development, for a green Vietnam, in harmony with nature".

Acting Minister Tran Duc Thang also emphasized that with the belief in the nation's intelligence, bravery and aspiration to rise up, we can completely turn the challenge of climate change into a development opportunity, making Vietnam a green, happy and sustainable country, contributing to the success of the 14th National Party Congress and the aspiration to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam by 2045.
