At 7:00 a.m. this morning, January 4, the low pressure area was located at about 5.5 - 6.5 degrees north latitude; 111.5 - 112.5 degrees east longitude.
Phu Quy station had strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 8; Huyen Tran station had strong winds of level 7, gusting to level 8.
Day and night of January 4, the North East Sea area (including Hoang Sa archipelago), the west of the central and South East Sea area (including the sea area west of Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan has strong winds of level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8 - 9. The sea is rough, waves are 3 - 5.5m high.
The sea area from Ba Ria Vung Tau to Ca Mau has strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8. Rough sea, waves 3 - 5m high.
The central and southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa archipelago) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. There is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
Day and night of January 5, the North East Sea area (including the Hoang Sa archipelago), the western sea area of the South East Sea area (including the western sea area of Truong Sa archipelago) and the sea area from Quang Ngai to Binh Thuan will have strong northeast to north winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8 - 9, rough seas, waves 3 - 5.5m high.
The western sea area between the East Sea and the sea area from Ba Ria - Vung Tau to Ca Mau has northeast wind level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, rough sea, waves 3 - 5m high.
The meteorological agency warned that the level of disaster risk due to strong winds at sea is level 2.
All vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by cyclones, strong winds and large waves.
