Latest update from the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting, at 7:00 a.m. on July 14, the location of the tropical depression center is at about 14.9 degrees north latitude; 112.0 degrees east longitude, in the southern waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago.
The strongest wind in the area near the center of the tropical depression is strong at level 6 (39 - 49km/h), gusting at level 8; moving northwest at a speed of about 10km/h.
It is forecast that in the next 24 hours, the tropical depression will move northwest at a speed of 10 - 15 km/h. By 7:00 a.m. on July 15, the tropical depression's center was located at about 16.2 degrees north latitude - 109.6 degrees east longitude; on the sea from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai.
The strongest wind force near the center of the tropical depression is strong at level 6 - 7, with gusts at level 9. The danger zone due to the tropical depression is at 13.0-17.5 degrees north latitude; west of meridian 114.0.
In the next 48 hours, the tropical depression moves west-northwest at a speed of about 10km/h and weakens into a low pressure area. By 7:00 a.m. on July 16, the center of the low pressure area was at about 16.8 degrees north latitude - 106.5 degrees east longitude; in the Vietnam - Laos border area.
Regarding the impact of tropical depression, the northwest waters of the mid- East Sea region and the southwest waters of the North East Sea region (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago) and the offshore waters from Quang Ninh From Binh to Quang Ngai, there were showers and strong thunderstorms, strong winds at level 6, sometimes level 7, gusts at level 9, and strong seas.
The northwest waters of the area between the East Sea and the southwest waters of the northern region of the East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago) have waves 2 - 4m high.
Offshore waters from Quang Binh to Quang Ngai have waves 1.5 - 3m high.
