In the context of increasingly urgent requirements for green growth, greenhouse gas emission reduction and circular economy development, Vietnamese agriculture is facing an important transitional period. Not only is it a matter of productivity, output or export, the agricultural sector today also has to meet increasingly high standards of quality, food safety, environmental protection and efficient use of resources.
The draft Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Environmental Protection is expected to create an important legal corridor to promote green agriculture, low emissions and better adaptation to climate change. Many new contents such as greenhouse gas inventory, carbon market development, carbon credits, circular economy, waste management and building a digital environmental data system are posing new requirements for the agricultural sector.

However, in order for these regulations not to stop at policies, the question is how farmers, cooperatives and agricultural enterprises can access, participate and benefit from the green transition process.
The seminar was attended by 2 guests: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho - Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Agriculture and Environment (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) and Dr. Vu Duy Hoang - Deputy Director of the Center for Ecological Agriculture and Vocational Training, Lecturer of the Faculty of Agriculture, Vietnam National University of Agriculture.
At the program, guests will exchange views on the new points of the revised Draft Law on Environmental Protection related to agriculture; the potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in cultivation and animal husbandry; carbon credit development opportunities; as well as the necessary conditions for farmers to become the subjects of green transformation.
In addition, the seminar will also focus on analyzing the story of circular economy in agriculture, especially the exploitation of by-products such as straw, animal waste, and crop by-products to create new value instead of becoming a source of pollution.
Another noteworthy content is how to make green agricultural models not just stop at piloting, but can be replicated in practice.

Through the seminar, Lao Dong Newspaper wishes to contribute more voices in identifying opportunities, bottlenecks and solutions so that the revised Draft Law on Environmental Protection truly becomes a driving force for green agriculture, circular agriculture and sustainable development.
The seminar is scheduled to be held at 3:00 PM on July 20, 2026 at the studio of Lao Dong Newspaper - No. 6 Pham Van Bach, Cau Giay ward, Hanoi.
Sincerely invite readers to follow.
