On April 16, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment Do Duc Duy received and worked with Ms. Quach Phuong, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Environment of China on the occasion of the Deputy Minister to attend the partnership summit for green growth and global goals to 2030 (P4G).
Ms. Quach Phuong said that in the period of 2015 - 2024, when Chinese GDP grew 55%, the number of vehicles gained 110%, but the national PM2.5 concentration dropped by 36%, and Beijing decreased by 61%. According to Quach Phuong, air pollution and environment is an inevitable issue in the process of industrialization of the country. Therefore, China affirms and wants to share experiences with Vietnam.

According to the representative of the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment, one of the main solutions is to adjust the clean energy structure in industry and transportation. Over the past 10 years, the proportion of coal consumption in the Chinese market has dropped sharply, from 47% to 23% by 2024.
The country has implemented many measures to cut emissions from coal. Currently, the capital of Beijing develops the system that provides heat source to replace coal heating for neighboring localities, helping 4,100 households to switch clean energy, while cutting about 80 million tons of coal consumption.
In addition, China has built the largest clean steel production system in the world, making an important contribution to the efforts to reduce the emission of heavy industry.

In the field of transportation, exporting new Chinese energy cars currently accounts for 70% of the global market share and for many consecutive years holding the world leading position.
Minister Do Duc Duy highly appreciated China's efforts in improving the air, especially in big cities. At the same time, expressing the impression of the solution to use remote sensing technology to monitor air pollution density.
"This is a modern and effective direction and can be referenced by countries and applied in accordance with the actual conditions," Minister Do Duc Duy said.
Along with that, at the P4G Conference, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development wishes to cooperate with China to respond to climate change through the sharing of information and policies related to the goals, roadmap and solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Also on April 16, Minister Do Duc Duy welcomed the Japanese environmental mission to visit and work with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment.
Minister Do Duc Duy affirmed that Japan is always a leading partner of Vietnam on ODA, investment, trade and especially in agricultural cooperation, environmental protection, climate change response.
Vietnam and Japan have made the exchange of common credit mechanism (JCM) very effectively. In the coming time, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment proposes to sign a cooperation agreement to implement the JCM mechanism under the Law on International Treaty to have grounds to implement and promote the internalization of the Paris Agreement on climate change.
