On August 6, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Hoan Lao Commune Police (Quang Tri province) said that they had just successfully supported a case of mistaken transfer of up to 5 billion VND.
Previously, on August 5, Hoan Lao Commune Police received a report from Mr. Tran Minh Quan (residing in Hanoi) about mistakenly transferring 5 billion VND to someone else's account.
Immediately after receiving the information, Hoan Lao Commune Police urgently verified and worked with the account holder who received the money, Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong (born 2001, residing in Hoan Phuc village, Hoan Lao commune).
After being contacted by the police force, Mr. Cuong cooperated and confirmed that the money transferred to his account was due to confusion. At 3:45 pm on the same day, he went to the Hoan Lao Commune Police headquarters to return all 5 billion VND to Mr. Tran Minh Quan.
Representatives of Hoan Lao Commune Police highly appreciated the honesty and responsibility of Mr. Hoang Quoc Cuong in quickly returning a large amount of money to the wrongly transferred person.
Through the incident, Hoan Lao Commune Police recommends that people carefully check the recipient's name, account number and amount of money before confirming the transaction. In case of unfortunate transfer, it is necessary to calmly contact the bank and the nearest police agency immediately for support and timely handling.
