On August 3, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Truong Khanh - Head of Kien Duc Commune Police (Lam Dong province) - said that the unit had just supported Mr. Le Ngoc Man (born 1956, residing in Long An ward, Tay Ninh province) to receive back 490 million VND due to mistaken transfer to another person's account.
Previously, on July 29, during transactions through a banking application, Mr. Man mistakenly transferred 490 million VND to the account of Ms. Vu Thi Sinh (born 1985, residing in Kien Duc commune, Lam Dong province).
After many self-contacts but failing to resolve it, on the afternoon of July 30, Mr. Man went to Kien Duc Commune Police to report and request support in verifying the account holder to recover the money.
Immediately after receiving the information, Kien Duc Commune Police urgently verified the account holder, residence and worked with the money recipient.
In just about an hour, the police force fully verified the information and directly met Ms. Vu Thi Sinh to propagate and explain the legal regulations related to receiving money mistakenly transferred by others.
After being mobilized, Ms. Sinh cooperated and agreed to return the entire amount to Mr. Man. By the morning of August 2, the return of 490 million VND was carried out under the witness of the Kien Duc Commune Police, ensuring compliance with the law.
Receiving the property back, Mr. Le Ngoc Man sent a sincere thank-you letter to the Kien Duc Commune Police and Ms. Vu Thi Sinh personally. Through this, he expressed his emotion at the sense of responsibility and dedication of officers and soldiers in the process of supporting the settlement of the case.
According to Kien Duc Commune Police, although it is not a criminal case, the quick support for people to receive back a large amount of money has contributed to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens and strengthening people's trust in the grassroots police force.
