In the first 6 months of 2026, the Women's Union at all levels in the province mobilized to build and repair 22 "Houses of Compassion" for poor women, with a total value of more than 1.1 billion VND and 110 working days.
The newly built houses not only help families settle down but also add faith and motivation for them to rise up and stabilize their lives.
More than half a month after moving into the new house, Ms. Bui Thi Kim Bong and her husband, in Thach Noi village, Ba Gia commune, still feel like they are in a dream.
Although still in the working age, both of them are often sick, so for many years they have had to live in a small house that has deteriorated, leaking with rain and there are no conditions to build or repair it. The dream of a solid house, no longer having to be afraid every time it rains and storms, seems too far away for her family.

Ms. Bong herself has diabetes, and her husband has kidney disease. Raising two children to adulthood is already a great effort of her and her husband. The family has just escaped poverty, and income is still precarious, so they never dared to think they would have the conditions to build a new house.
Fortunately, in May 2026, after surveying the circumstances, the Ba Gia Commune Women's Union supported my family with 50 million VND to build a house. Along with the contributions of relatives and borrowing more from brothers and sisters, after nearly 1.5 months of construction, the house of more than 70m2 was completed. This is not only a place to shelter from rain and sun but also adds motivation for my family to try to work and rise up to build a better life," Ms. Bong emotionally shared.
To have funds to support Ms. Bui Thi Kim Bong to build a "House of Compassion", in May 2026, the Ba Gia Commune Women's Union organized a cultural night "Melody of Love - Wings of Dreams". The performances were elaborately staged by officials and women's union members, attracting a large number of people to cheer and support. After deducting expenses, the program raised more than 70 million VND.
Ms. Truong Thi My Cam - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Chairwoman of the Ba Gia Commune Women's Union - said that in the commune, there are still many members and poor, disadvantaged women facing housing difficulties. Therefore, the union has proactively organized a cultural program to mobilize socialized resources and support the construction of "Houses of Compassion".
Depending on the circumstances, each house is supported from 50 - 80 million VND. At the same time, the association also mobilizes officials and members to participate in contributing working days for construction.
In the coming time, the Commune Women's Union strives to support building or repairing at least one house each year for women in difficult circumstances, helping women settle down, feel secure in developing the economy and stabilizing their lives.
In addition to supporting construction costs, branches and women's union groups in the province also mobilize members and women to contribute working days to reduce construction costs, contributing to the early completion of gratitude houses, bringing joy to poor women.
