Common behavioral problems in children and appropriate handling

In the process of growing up, children may develop behaviors that worry parents. Accompanying and orienting them properly will help children change more positively.

Children are often hyperactive, curious and always want to explore the world around them. In the process of growing up, many children develop behaviors that make parents worried or have difficulty managing. Experts believe that instead of just focusing on punishment, parents need to find out the causes and choose a suitable approach to help children adjust their behavior.

One of the common behaviors is lying. Children may lie because they are afraid of being punished, want to attract attention, or try to avoid awkward situations. In many cases, children hide their mistakes to avoid trouble. To overcome it, parents should talk to children calmly, help children understand the consequences of being dishonest and build a habit of telling the truth in the family.

Opposing attitudes or deliberately doing the opposite of adults' requests are quite common expressions in children in some stages of development. According to experts, this may be a way for children to express their desire to take their own decisions or challenge set limits. Instead of scolding, parents should maintain clear, consistent principles and guide children to cooperate through positive communication.

Using too many electronic devices is one of the common problems in children today. Spending too much time on phones, tablets or electronic games can affect vision, sleep and physical activity. To limit this situation, parents should stipulate appropriate screen usage time and encourage children to participate in outdoor activities.

Picky eating or frequently demanding snacks is a fairly common situation in young children. This habit can cause the diet to be unbalanced and affect the formation of healthy eating habits. To overcome this, parents should limit processed foods, sugary foods, and build a diverse menu and ensure that children are provided with enough nutrition in main meals.

Another issue to be concerned about is disrespectful behavior. Expressions such as calling someone's name in harsh words, throwing objects or mocking friends or older people can affect children's social relationships. In this case, parents need to clearly explain what is inappropriate behavior and the consequences that may occur if children continue to behave like that.

In addition, whining or crying when you don't get what you want is also a common behavior. Children can cry, scream, or be impatient when requests are not met. Parents should help children recognize their emotions, guide them on how to express their desires appropriately, and encourage positive forms of communication instead of whining.

Adjusting children's behavior is a process that requires time and patience. When properly guided, children will gradually form positive habits, know how to control emotions and develop the necessary skills for life.
