Son Tung M-TP's return with the MV "Come my way" quickly became the focus of attention on social networking platforms.
After 24 hours of release, this music product has reached about 13 million views on YouTube, showing the significant influence of the male singer after many years of activity in the entertainment industry.
Despite receiving great attention from the public, Son Tung M-TP's new MV also faced many mixed opinions. Among them, the most controversial detail is the scene of the male singer standing on a model of a Lac bird appearing right at the beginning of the MV.

The image of Lac bird - a symbol associated with Dong Son culture and ancient bronze drum - was placed by the crew in the center of Los Angeles (USA). According to Son Tung M-TP, this image was built to convey a message about the intersection between Vietnamese cultural identity and the spirit of integration with the world.
However, the image of Son Tung standing on the Lac bird symbol quickly caused controversy on social networks. Many viewers believe that this expression lacks respect for a sacred cultural symbol.
Historically, Lac birds appeared on Dong Son bronze drums thousands of years old, considered a symbol of the aspiration for freedom, persistent vitality and the spirit of rising up of the Vietnamese nation.
In terms of the spread on social networks as well as the number of views in the first 24 hours, "Come my way" seems not to be comparable to many previous products of Son Tung M-TP.
The MV "Come my way" reached 13 million views after the first 24 hours, and currently nearly 15 million views.

Previously, the MV "Hay trao cho anh" once created a fever when it reached more than 26 million views in just one day of release.
Similarly, products like "Are you sure this is love" (20 million views) or "It's late but why are you still there" (15 million views) also recorded more impressive achievements in the same period of time.
This difference makes many people question whether Son Tung M-TP's appeal is gradually cooling down after many years of maintaining its leading position in Vpop.
After the success of Latin songs such as "Give it to me", "Making my way", Son Tung M-TP continues to try his hand at Afrobeat in "Come my way".
This is a popular music genre in the world but quite picky about listeners because of its spreading tempo, no climax or explosive chorus.
This makes "Come my way" new, but it is also difficult to create a catchy feeling for the majority of Vietnamese audiences who are familiar with emotional songs with clear highlights.
Son Tung M-TP's English singing part caused much controversy when a part of the audience said that the pronunciation lacked naturalness and the characteristic vibrato of European and American music. Besides, the lyrics were also commented on as not being smooth enough, bringing a feeling of direct translation from Vietnamese.
