After many days of deep flooding, the water in Thai Nguyen City has gradually receded. People and authorities join hands to clean up after the historic flood.
In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 3, many areas in Thai Nguyen city have experienced prolonged heavy rain, water from upstream has poured down causing widespread flooding.According to the reporter's records on September 12, flood water in many places in Thai Nguyen city has gradually receded, some areas in Dong Bam, Quang Vinh, Hoang Van Thu wards... are still flooded, traffic is cut off.The historic storm and flood have passed, and people in the flooded areas who were previously evacuated have returned home and are busy cleaning and sanitizing their houses.The flood water receded, leaving only layers of mud on the floor.Furniture and electronic equipment were scattered on the floor. After many days of being submerged in water, these items were completely damaged.Joining hands to support people to overcome the consequences after the storm, the Department of Culture and Training School, Ministry of Public Security mobilized forces to Quang Vinh ward to support people to clean up their houses and surrounding areas affected by the storm.In Quang Vinh ward, where the flood was deep and heavily affected, the water has gradually receded. More than 100 soldiers from Battalion 3 and Air Defense Brigade 210 were mobilized to support local residents, joining hands to collect and sort garbage, and clean up mud in people's homes.Mr. Phan Van Quang of Air Defense Brigade 210 said that currently, soldiers, army and militia are being deployed to areas affected by storm No. 3 to join hands to support and overcome the consequences with the people to soon stabilize their lives.On September 12, speaking with reporters, Mr. Le Viet Hung - Acting Chairman of Quang Vinh Ward People's Committee said that by this morning, the flood water level in the area had completely receded, and vehicles could circulate."After the recent flood, local authorities are working with local people to clean up mud that has flooded into their homes, collect and sort waste, and clean up the area so that people can soon stabilize their lives," the local leader informed.
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, statistics (as of September 11) estimated property damage caused by the recent flood in Thai Nguyen was nearly 200 billion VND.
Heavy rains caused deep flooding in many communes and districts in the province, forcing 3,063 households to evacuate urgently; 323 houses had their roofs blown off; 25 schools were affected; 7,332.42 hectares of rice and crops; 415 hectares of forest trees; 255,817 livestock and poultry died; and 117 landslides occurred.
Floodwaters also submerged 1,606.4 hectares of fish farms; 14 cable poles were broken; 3,300m of wire was broken and many terminals were damaged; 4 transformer stations were damaged; 60 electric poles were knocked down.
