    The new construction project of the underpass at the Nguyễn Văn Linh - Nguyễn Hữu Thọ intersection (District 7) has 2 branches including HC1 and HC2 tunnels, each tunnel is 456m long and wide enough for 3 lanes.
    In 2020, the underpass at the Nguyễn Văn Linh - Nguyễn Hữu Thọ intersection (District 7) was started with a total investment of 830 billion VND (phase one). The project includes 2 branches, HC1 and HC2 tunnels on each side of Nguyễn Văn Linh street, each tunnel is 456m long, three lanes, with a speed of 60 km/h; above is a roundabout with turning branches. The initial underpass was expected to be completed in June 2022, but it was postponed to early 2024.
    After more than 5 months of construction, the underpass project at the Nguyễn Văn Linh - Nguyễn Hữu Thọ intersection (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City) has revealed 2 closed tunnels 98m long, with one tunnel branch completing the final stages and expected to open to traffic in August 2024.
    After more than 6 months of resumed construction, the underpass project at the Nguyễn Văn Linh - Nguyễn Hữu Thọ intersection has revealed 2 closed tunnels 98m long, with the HC2 tunnel branch (from District 7 to Bình Chánh) completing the final stages and expected to open to traffic at the end of August 2024. The HC1 tunnel branch in the opposite direction and all related items will be completed by the end of this year.
    Mr. Vũ Quang Chính - Supervisor of the underpass project at the Nguyễn Văn Linh - Nguyễn Hữu Thọ intersection said: “The HC2 tunnel branch has currently reached 85%, and contractors are focusing on constructing the main item of 3 closed tunnel segments, from today until before August 5, the closed tunnel cap will be completed. Simultaneously, the pipeline connecting to the pump station will be constructed to ensure drainage for the project and complete the technical infrastructure for the HC2 tunnel to meet the completion schedule and open to traffic by the end of August.

    Currently, the HC2 tunnel has been fully visible from one side to the other.

    On the construction site, contractors must maximize manpower and machinery to speed up the construction progress.
    According to the contractor, there are about 150 staff, engineers, and workers on the construction site, along with dozens of types of machinery and equipment working day and night in 3 shifts, 4 teams to speed up the progress.
    The HC1 tunnel branch has now reached over 50% progress. The construction unit is excavating and pouring concrete to soon complete the tunnel segments, with contractors working on multiple tunnel segments simultaneously. The HC1 tunnel has a closed section of 98m, with open sections at both ends of 180m and 178m. This tunnel branch is expected to open to traffic in December 2024.
    The HC1 tunnel branch has now reached over 60% progress. The construction unit is excavating and pouring concrete to soon complete the tunnel segments.
    The entire Nguyễn Văn Linh – Nguyễn Hữu Thọ underpass project will be completed by the end of 2024, helping to reduce traffic pressure at the southern gateway of Ho Chi Minh City and facilitating smoother traffic from Nguyễn Hữu Thọ to Kênh Tẻ Bridge into the city center.
