Renovating the relic where King Gia Long's parents were worshiped

On July 20, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center said that the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province, term VIII, term 2021 - 2026, passed a Resolution approving the investment policy of the project to preserve and restore Hung Mieu relics .

Hung Mieu Relic is one of the important worship works in the Hue Monuments Complex, a place to worship King Gia Long's father and mother.

Currently, the building has seriously degraded, the roof is leaking, the wooden structures are rotten, moldy and termite-infested, causing the risk of collapse. Therefore, investing in the restoration of Hung Mieu relics is extremely necessary.

The People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province has submitted to the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province for consideration and decision to approve the investment policy of the Hung Mieu relic preservation and restoration project with a total investment of more than 47 billion VND from the provincial budget.

The goal of the project is to preserve, restore and promote the value of special national historical and cultural relics and world cultural heritage.

The project will demolish the entire Hung Mieu Temple, repair and restore the heavily damaged frame system, roof system, walls, panels, doors, panels... and preserve the components in good condition. Anti-termite for all wooden construction components. Repair and reinforce building foundations, prevent termites, and prevent moisture.

Restoring the roof edge, the decision edge, the frill neck, the roof edges, attaching porcelain, the roof is covered with yin and yang royal lapis lazuli tiles. Restoring all wooden structures with gilded lacquer...

In addition, reinforcing the foundation, repairing and restoring the Bat Trang tiled yard and damaged areas; green trees, landscape.

Installing interior and exterior lighting systems, roof lighting of Hung Mieu and gates in accordance with the function and aesthetics of the entire project.

According to the Hue Monuments Conservation Center, Hung Mieu is a place to worship Mr. Nguyen Phuc Con, father of King Gia Long, built in the 3rd year of Gia Long (1804) in the southwest corner of the Imperial Citadel. Inside are the altar tablets of Hung To Hieu Khang Emperor and Empress.

Hung Mieu was completely burned down. In 1951, Queen Mother Doan Huy Hoang (King Bao Dai's mother) rebuilt it on the old foundation of the main temple. In 1995, the building was renovated again and painted with gilded vermilion.
