Due to lack of parking after the massive illegal parking lot in Linh Dam Urban Area was closed, many cars were parked on the street, obstructing traffic.
Recently, the People's Committee of Hoang Mai District, Hanoi City has decided to clear an illegal parking lot of over 10,000 square meters in Linh Dam Urban Area (considered the largest parking lot in the area) with a capacity of nearly 1,000 cars, to build a school area.On December 22, according to Lao Dong, around the newly cleared parking lot in Hoang Liet ward, a series of cars were parked on the street, causing traffic jams in many places.Mr. Dinh Xuan Viet, a technology driver around this area, said that during rush hour this road is often congested, especially after the illegal parking lot was cleared. “This area was already congested before, but now it is even more congested. Cars are spilling out onto the road, narrowing the road. It is very difficult for me to transport passengers here during rush hour,” Mr. Viet shared.Living in the HH4 Linh Dam building, Mr. Vu Hoang Vung said that because the apartment building does not have a place to park, residents have to park their vehicles outside. These two land lots have a planned area of 1.084 hectares, located at the foot of the HH Linh Dam apartment complex and near the Hoang Mai District Cultural, Information and Sports Center.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Chairman of Hoang Liet Ward People's Committee - Nguyen Xuan Chinh - confirmed that the ward's functional forces are currently coordinating with Hoang Mai District to handle and clear this parking lot and other illegal business services to prepare for the project's investment and construction process.
Recently, the Ward People's Committee has proposed the District People's Committee to grant temporary permits for parking in unfinished project land and vacant land in residential areas to reduce the lack of parking spaces for residents, which also reduces the number of spontaneous parking lots.
