The People's Committee of Da Nang City said that the western area of the city, including Lien Chieu district and 4 northern communes of Hoa Vang district (Hoa Lien, Hoa Bac, Hoa Son and Hoa Ninh), is a large area with a geographical location far from the city center, so it is very difficult for local people to access the city's cultural centers and large entertainment areas.
This is also where 8 universities, colleges and 5 high-tech zones and large industrial zones of the city are concentrated. Not to mention, the area is also being planned to build 2 new industrial zones and industrial clusters. While other districts in the city have been planned to invest in building at least 2 district-level Cultural and Sports Centers, Lien Chieu district only has 1.
Therefore, the Multi-purpose Cultural and Sports Center Project combined with performance for workers, students and pupils in the Western region in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang has been approved by the People's Committee of Da Nang City since 2023. The project has a total investment capital of 87 billion VND, invested by the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Works.
The multi-purpose Cultural, Sports and Performance Center project serving workers, students and pupils in the western part of the city is committed to starting construction in August 2024.
However, the Department of Planning and Investment of Da Nang City said that the fire prevention and fighting approval process must be revised according to the reviewing agency to ensure fire prevention and fighting standards for the project, so the time to make revisions and approve fire prevention and fighting was longer than expected.
Therefore, the Department of Planning and Investment of Da Nang City requests the Department of Construction to promptly complete the Construction Design Appraisal Results Report.
The City People's Committee also believes that early investment in a multi-purpose Cultural, Sports and Performance Center to serve the cultural and entertainment needs of residents, workers, students in the western part of the city is in line with the city's development planning and is necessary at the present stage.
