The new year always carries new aspirations. Some people want to be promoted, some people want to get married, rich or poor, anything is fine as long as they are compatible, some people want their children to pass exams, grow up quickly, and some people just want the new year to be less painful... Besides big aspirations, there are also simple aspirations such as feeling healthy in the morning, going to work peacefully and having someone waiting for dinner at home in the evening, or simply not having any unexpected bills this year. No wishes or aspirations are the same, but no one is hopeless.
Hope is like a coat worn on a cold windy day, not enough to fight storms, but enough for us to step out of the house. It does not promise a destination, only ensures one thing: To continue, there is still a chance. Therefore, whether the new year opens with fireworks or with a debt alarm bell, people still give themselves the right to hope. That right is free, unregistered, and never expires.
The press at the beginning of the year often statistics all sorts of things: Growth, inflation, trends. But if there is one index that never decreases, it is the hope index. It does not appear on the chart, does not have an eye-catching color, but is as persistent as an underground water vein. Hope is also sometimes teased. Someone laughed at him: "Every year you promise, make a jar, a bottle, but promise a lot and promise a lot". But even that broken promise is evidence that hope has passed. It does not blame when we break promises. It only returns, quietly, at the beginning of next year, to ask again: "What's the matter now?".
Hope does not replace us, but it gives us a reason to start. It turns everyday things into directional steps. No need to be big, just persistent. We don't see the whole road, but see enough to walk. Each person has their own desire, each person has their own pace. Some people run fast, some people walk slowly, some people walk while sighing. But no one stands completely still, because standing still is the most difficult thing when there is still a little hope in hand.
And if you have to send New Year's greetings, then just hope that each person's hope is long enough to not give up too early, alert enough not to promise too much, and humorous enough to smile when things are not yet as desired.
