As Lao Dong reported, the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee has agreed to stop fireworks displays in all 30 districts, towns and cities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day.
According to Politburo member, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Hanoi Bui Thi Minh Hoai, this is an action stemming from the solidarity of compatriots, demonstrating the responsibility of the Capital and the spirit of "Hanoi for the whole country, with the whole country".
Hanoi's decision to stop fireworks is a reasonable one, receiving the agreement and welcome of many people, not only in the capital but also across the country.
There are also opinions that it is necessary to separate each task because the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital is a big event, and fireworks are also a traditional ritual, indispensable on important occasions.
For many people, fireworks are not just a fun activity but also have symbolic meaning, expressing the pride and spirit of the capital's people towards the liberation day, so it is reasonable that Hanoi organizes fireworks displays at all 30 locations in this year's celebration.
However, in the context that the northern provinces have just suffered heavy losses in terms of human life, property, and infrastructure caused by storm No. 3, local leaders and people are “working twice as hard”, “working during the day is not enough, working at night” to overcome the consequences as directed by the Prime Minister, stopping fireworks on this occasion is the right and responsible decision.
This is an act of solidarity and sharing with our fellow countrymen in difficulty, and at the same time helps save a lot of money. If this source of funds is used to join hands to support our fellow countrymen and people in areas that have suffered serious damage to people and property, it will be more meaningful and bring much more joy to the people.
In difficult times, prioritizing resources for urgent tasks such as supporting people in distress is not only the responsibility of government agencies but also a manifestation of the spirit of mutual love and support, which is a fine tradition of the Vietnamese people.
Hanoi is the heart of the whole country. In this context, Hanoi's decision to stop fireworks in the spirit of "for the whole country, with the whole country" does not diminish the significance of the anniversary of the Capital's Liberation, but on the contrary, it highlights the spirit of humanity, empathy and social responsibility.
That is one of the core values that the capital Hanoi has always maintained throughout its history!
