With a total investment of more than VND 23,000 billion and a length of 519km through 9 provinces, this is not only a key and urgent project but also has a particularly important meaning in ensuring national energy security and contributing to achieving the economic growth target in 2024. First of all, the completion and operation of the 500kV line 3 marks a major turning point for the entire energy system of Vietnam, especially the North. With this project, the hope of summers without power shortages has been lit.
Next, the birth of the 500kV Line 3 resolved a long-standing paradox: While the Central and Southern regions had surplus electricity, the North was suffering from a severe power shortage.
When "circuit 3" is connected, electricity from the South and Central regions will be sent to the North, reducing the pressure of electricity shortage, ensuring supply for daily life and production, thereby eliminating the imbalance in energy distribution.
In addition, this project also has another important meaning: Releasing the wind and solar power sources that are congested in the Central and Southern regions. This will help maximize the efficiency of investment in renewable energy, an inevitable trend to ensure sustainable development. At the same time, it also promotes renewable energy businesses, creating more motivation for investment, production and development.
With its importance, the 500kV Line 3 project not only brings benefits - the key to ensuring energy security, but also plays an important role in promoting Vietnam to achieve the national economic growth target in 2024 of about 6-6.5%, as forecasted by the General Statistics Office.
Because ensuring a stable and sufficient power supply for key economic regions will create favorable conditions for production and business activities, while contributing to attracting investment, creating jobs and promoting the development of other industries.
Furthermore, the release of renewable energy will also contribute positively to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing Vietnam’s image in the eyes of the international community regarding its commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection. These are important factors contributing to maintaining stable economic growth in the long term.
