If any director wants to tell about the tragic story of Vietnamese female sports warriors, the two finals of the Women's Volleyball Team and the Women's Football Team at the 33rd SEA Games are enough data to make a 2-episode film. It has the same scenario of the indomitable spirit, the unbearable belief and before ending it in a more unforgettable way.
Although I understand that the sports world has witnessed similar tragedies, even more terrible ones, in the end, people only feel sorry and share the sadness of the girls who have fought in one of the best matches of their career, surrounded by disadvantages.
Missing a historic Gold Medal (women's volleyball), Missing a Gold Medal for the day of farewell or the first time participating in the SEA Games (for many athletes) in an emotional way that is not too much if said that the way Mr. Chung laughed was enough to explode the bitterness. It is very similar to the way the character William Cage played by Tom Cruise in Edge of Tomorrow makes a sound of laughter at the end of the film - other thing is the feeling of relieving all the tension when winning.
Life scripts are not always written with the ending point being victory, happiness for the good side, for the side that has overcome all difficulties and obstacles, and played better. Life is the same, there will be a day, at some point, you feel that everything you do deserves to receive results and honor. But in return, it was failure, being second, being ignored, letting everything collapse.
But remember, once you work your heart out with love and passion, like Vietnamese sports girls, you are a warrior. But thinking positively, the sadness of the warriors will be beautiful from another perspective...
